“HELP MY UNBELIEF”
BY
DR JACK GRAHAM
Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, "I believe; help my unbelief!"
—Mark 9:24
In today's verse you and I can hear the desperate heart cry of a father saying to Jesus, "I believe; help my unbelief!" This man was desperate for his son to be delivered from an unclean spirit.
Perhaps you've felt this way yourself at some time… desperate for God to intervene in your life or the life of a loved one or friend. God wants to help your unbelief and mine. And I want to give you five ways that God helps our unbelief.
If you do these things, God will stretch your faith. Perhaps you have faith but you've got some doubts, you've got some fears, you've got some failures. Here's how to help your unbelief.
Number one, make a full surrender of your life to Jesus Christ. Second, saturate your mind with the Word of God.
Third, if you want your faith to grow… if you want God to help you with your faith, then exercise the faith that you have.
Fourth, practice prayer and fasting.
Then finally, I believe, you must engage with the fellowship of the church.
If you hang around unbelievers, it won't be long before you'll be acting like and living like unbelievers and thinking like unbelievers. But if you get with the people of God, the people who believe, it won't be long that you'll be sharing their faith as well.
YOU NEED FAITH JUST TO BELIEVE IN GOD EVERY DAY.
