“We Do Have His
Presence”
BY
ADRIAN ROGERS
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” - 2 Corinthians 5:7
In John chapter four, we read the story of a nobleman whose
son was gravely ill. And yet Jesus chose not to go to the son to heal him.
Other times, Jesus went to lay His hands on the sick and they recovered. Why
didn’t He do that this time? I think for my sake and your sake He did not go.
There are so many of us who think if only we have the
physical presence of Jesus, then we will have the blessings of Jesus. We say to
ourselves, “If only I lived back then.” Or, “Won’t it be wonderful when Jesus
returns.”
We don’t have to live in the past or in the future; we have
His Word today. And it’s just as real and powerful as if He were here in the
flesh. Distance makes no difference.
